THE ZOO OF GUADELOUPE

Experience the exotic wildlife of the rainforest

The magnificent rainforest in the center of Basse Terre offers a huge variety of activities. Parc des Mamelles, the zoo of Guadeloupe, is located just on the edge of the primeval forest and contains a wide variety of exotic animals. Just a few meters after the entrance we are in middle of all the sounds and scents the rainforest provides.

Parc des Mamelles began as a conservation sanctuary for injured animals and has gradually developed into a zoo. Here you can find many local species but also a lot of animals which are normally not available here in Guadeloupe. You will meet parrots, monkeys, turtles, jaguars and many more exotic species. There are also exciting places such as a bat cave, a butterfly room and a terrarium full of insects and snakes. The park provides shelter for many species of animals that otherwise would not be alive.
